A journey of an associate dentist in 2023

Savile Club
6:30pm for 7:00pm

Fahad is a dental surgeon who qualified from Universidad de Cardenal Herrera-CEU (Spain) in 2017. He has since obtained an MSc from the Eastman Dental Institute in Restorative Dental Practice. He also simultaneously completed his implant training at One-to-One Education in Harley Street.

Outside of dentistry, Fahad worked in the kitchens at one of the world’s best Michelin starred restaurants. His other opportunities have allowed him to work part-time for the World Economic Forum, where he works in communications. In specific with media outlets for the annual Davos meeting. He has done this for the last 12 years.

Fahad to this day is committed in providing appropriate care for his patients in private practice. In his short career, he has built a network of like-minded dentists and mentors, who have aided him in staying ethical conscientious and resilient.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Showcasing an experience of studying dentistry abroad in a different language.
  • The importance of post-graduate training in both an academic and clinical manner.
  • How mentorship and building a network is vital in a young dental career.
  • To make every opportunity count both inside and outside dentistry.
  • The parallels of working in a kitchen and being a dentist.
  • Highlighting resilience as a key factor in managing what can be a ‘stressful’ job.

The lecture will give the audience an overview of craniofacial pathology in a very accessible way. It aims to outline the historical context of the appearance of a new specialty, craniofacial surgery.

The audience will be able to assimilate theoretical and practical notions regarding the clinical aspects of complex craniofacial malformation syndromes, the diagnostic steps, and the therapeutic timing and approach. A scientific and clinical evidence-based wide range of correction procedures according to the type of craniofacial syndrome will be presented.
